YMCA of Greater Richmond – Since arriving in Richmond in 1854, the Richmond YMCA has been a family-oriented institution welcoming all to develop their spiritual, mental and physical gifts. Through numerous transformations, the YMCA of Greater Richmond has offered lasting benefits to the city and communities it serves.

Heart of Virginia Council Boy Scouts of America – Both Hugh A. Joyce, our current president, and Hugh E. Joyce, our late founder, were heavily involved with scouting.  James River is an annual supporter of the Sporting Clays Classics in Goochland, VA.  In 2009, James River Air was the Lead Sponsor, and Hugh Joyce served as Chairman.

Junior Achievement – Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.

Several of James River’s staff has served as JA volunteers, and many of our employees participate in the annual JA Bowlathon.

Rebuilding Together – Rebuilding Together is the nation’s leading nonprofit working to preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize communities.  Rebuilding Together believes they can preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize communities by providing free home modifications and repairs, making homes safer, more accessible, and more energy efficient.

James River Air has donated materials and equipment, and our staff has donated their time during Rebuilding Together events in Richmond.

Children’s Museum of RichmondThe mission of the Children’s Museum of Richmond is to inspire the potential in every child.  As a/ It is a not-for-profit organization, it exists to inspire all children by appealing to their natural capacity for curiosity, exploration and learning.

The Children’s Museum is a great success story for James River Air – we have helped them reduce their energy bill drastically!

Richmond Christmas Mother – The Richmond Christmas Mother program was launched 75 years ago when The Times-Dispatch Goodfellows Club and The News Leader Neediest Family fund joined with other local Christmas stocking clubs to create a single holiday fundraising campaign.

The fund was designed to provide needy children and families with toys, clothing, food and other assistance during the holidays. The Salvation Army now administers the fund as part of its citywide Christmas programs.

Richmond SPCA  – The Richmond SPCA, founded in 1891, is a non-profit, no-kill humane organization dedicated to the principle that every life is precious. As a national leader in humane care and education, the Richmond SPCA is aggressively tackling the problem of pet overpopulation through education, adoption, rehabilitation and spay/neuter. The organization saves the lives of 3,500 homeless animals each year and cares for approximately 350 cats and dogs daily.  Our president, Hugh Joyce, serves on the Board of Directors.

Central VA Food Bank – In keeping with their vision “that none shall go hungry” the Central Virginia Foodbank (CVFB) feeds the elderly, children, the unemployed, the “working poor,” victims of disaster, the sick, and those in crisis through more than 500 Network Partners.

Toys for Tots – The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community.

American Heart Association – The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is: “Building healthier ives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.”

James River contributes to the Richmond Heart Ball, one of the American Heart Association’s annual signature events. This is a celebration of the funds that are raised for life-saving medical research and community education programs.

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts – VMFA is a state-supported, privately endowed educational institution created for the benefit of the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Its purpose is to collect, preserve, exhibit, and interpret art, to encourage the study of the arts, and thus to enrich the lives of all.  James River Air is a museum donor and provides heating and cooling services as well.

Art 180 – ART 180 gives young people the chance to express themselves through art, and to share their stories with others. They create and provide art-related programs to young people living in challenging circumstances, encouraging personal and community change through self-expression.  Hugh Joyce, President of James River Air, is on the organization’s board and our company is a sponsor of the Art Karma event.

Habitat for Humanity – Richmond – Habitat for Humanity is committed to making affordable and safe housing a reality for low-income families. And with the help of donations, volunteers, proceeds from our ReStore, and hard work from our homebuyers, they’re making that dream possible for hundreds of residents in the Richmond Metropolitan area. Habitat for Humanity – Hanover – Hanover Habitat seeks to eradicate substandard housing from Hanover County by encouraging all stakeholders (business, industry, government, social services, congregations, civic clubs, schools and individual citizens) to make housing a matter of action and conscience.  James River Air is proud to have worked with this organization on various home improvement projects.

Richmond Symphony – The Richmond Symphony performs, teaches and champions music, to enrich and entertain communities throughout Virginia.  James River Air is a proud sponsor of the Symphony.

Venture Richmond – Venture Richmond engages business and community leaders in partnering with the city to enhance the vitality of the community, particularly downtown, through economic development, marketing, promotion, advocacy and events.

Sports Backers – From the Our Culture section of their website:  “Producing quality events will always remain at our core, but transforming Greater Richmond into the nation’s most physically active community is now the top priority for the Sports Backers. It’s become our true passion, an organizational vision that every staffer is excited to stand behind.”  James River Air has been a proud sponsor of their activities.

CultureWorks – CultureWorks encourages all citizens of the Richmond region to make a difference through financial support for arts and culture.

Rotary International – Rotary’s main objective is service — in the community, in the workplace, and around the globe. The 1.2 million Rotarians who make up more than 34,000 Rotary clubs in nearly every country in the world share a dedication to the ideal of Service Above Self.  Hugh Joyce, President of James River Air, is an active member of the Rotary Club of West Richmond and James River Air is a contributor to the organization.

Montpelier Center for Arts and Education – The Montpelier Center’s Mission is to enhance the quality of life in western Hanover County through educational opportunities including classroom, studio, lecture & discussion groups; partnerships with local, county & state organizations for outreach;

participation in visual & performing arts for all ages.  James River Air is a proud contributor to their efforts.

St. Catherine’s School  – St. Catherine’s, a Church School in the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, offers girls in junior kindergarten through twelfth grade a rigorous college preparatory education through a community of teachers and staff committed to fostering the development of the mind, body and spirit. The ultimate aim of the school is to prepare girls of diverse perspectives for leadership and service in a global community.  James River Air provides services for and is a sponsor of the school.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Richmond – Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond programs promotes the development of young people by instilling a sense of belonging , a sense of usefulness, a sense ofinfluence and a sense of competence . When this strategy is fully implemented, self-esteem is enhanced and an environment is created which helps young people to reach their full potential.  James River Air has been sponsor of the Career Launcher program and provides HVAC and plumbing services to the organization.

Patrick Henry High School – Located in Hanover County, Virginia, Patrick Henry High School strives for excellence in education in the 21st century, while maintaining the traditions that have created a strong foundation of teamwork, productivity, and Patriot Pride.  James River Air contributes towards scholarships at the school and is a PHHS Athletic Booster

VCU – One of the nation’s top research universities, VCU enrolls more than 31,000 students on two Richmond campuses – the Monroe Park Campus and MCV Campus.  James River Air is a frequent sponsor of the Engineering Department and Hugh Joyce is a Member of the Board of Trustees of the VCU School of Engineering Foundation.”

Randolph Macon College – Founded in 1830, Randolph-Macon College is a selective, coeducational college located in historic Ashland, Virginia, just minutes north of Richmond and only 90 miles south of Washington, DC.  James River Air installed a solar panel system at Andrews Hall, which opened in 2011.

University of Richmond – The University of Richmond provides a collaborative learning and research environment unlike any other in higher education, offering students an extraordinary combination of the liberal arts with law, business, leadership studies, and continuing education.  James River Air President Hugh Joyce is a graduate of the University, and James River Air is a donor and provides HVAC services.

Hanover Tavern Foundation – The Tavern is one of only a few surviving colonial era taverns in the United States. It has hosted such historic figures as George Washington, Lord Cornwallis, and the Marquis de Lafayette.  James River Air sponsors various events that the Foundation puts on.

James River Green Building Council – The James River Green Building Council (JRGBC) wants to create a positive impact on the region’s built environment by accelerating the adoption of green building practices, technologies, policies, and standards. They endeavor to move the green building industry forward with market-based solutions.  James River Air is a member and sponsor of the council.

Bethany College – Bethany, a small college of national distinction, was founded March 2, 1840. For more than 170 years, Bethany College has been a highly contemporary institution based in the tradition of the liberal arts.James River’s founder, Hugh E. Joyce, was a graduate of the college.  James River Air has been a contributor to their capital fund and a scholarship sponsor.
