HISTORY
Hugh E. Joyce started James River Heating and Air Conditioning in 1967. The company has grown from 1 employee to over 100 today, servicing all types of residential and commercial heating, cooling and refrigeration systems. The company serves the entire Central Virginia Area through a fleet of 50 radio dispatched trucks and 10 installation crews. Currently, James River Heating and Air Conditioning is proud to be recognized as a market leader and innovator in the HVAC industry.

Owners' Vision
Buying a residential or commercial heating and cooling system is a confusing, difficult task for most consumers. Let's face it, heat pumps, and furnaces don't just "come out of the box" and work. They require precise engineering, installation, commissioning and operational set up. That is why you need a contractor like James River Heating and Air Conditioning.

We walk you through the steps of properly installing a system.

  • Pre-Engineering
  • System Design, Selection & Specifications
  • Budgeting
  • Start-up & Commissioning
  • Site Review
  • Scope Review
  • Installation
  • Ongoing Maintenance & Service

Many consumers sometimes become confused after system selection and during the budgetary process because they begin to focus only on the installed cost of the system and not installation scope and the quality of the installing contractor. Everyone wants the lowest price on a system, it's human nature, but don't get fooled by an up-front low price. Many important items could be omitted and you may end up paying for them later. Work with your contractor and focus, not only on the price, but the scope, the contractor, the specified product, and the materials and the service you will receive after the sale. Then, buy from the contractor you trust the most. Our vision is to be that contractor.

Our Mission

To provide breathtaking service, engineering and installation quality for our
customers; a happy, challenging environment for our employees to work and
retire, and to give back to our community through sharing our money and
our time with those in need.
