I would like to take this opportunity to compliment the people who were involved in the recent work in our home. Our first experience with your organization was a little over a year ago when one of your service technicians came out to perform an inspection of our two heat pumps.
It was easy to recognize that we were dealing with professionals by his performance.
When the inspection was due this year, it was noticed that the unit in the attic
had rusted to the point that we were at risk of the ceiling being ruined by water
from the air conditioner. We decided to replace the unit.
That service technician (John) was very helpful and contacted the sales person for us. Everything was handled very well. Your salesperson (Tim) informed us of a special offer you had in place at the time and we ultimately decided to use your firm for the replacement. Our neighbors (2) had dealt with James River and were very satisfied with the job you did.
In an event, your installers performed the work on our home and got the system installed in the two days as promised. They were Rick, Bert, Matt and Taylor. I would recommend any of them to any of my neighbors if they were looking for this kind of work.
They were very careful and tidy. They did not leave any evidence they had been working on our system except for the new equipment. The work area was clean, the carpets stayed clean and all the debris was carted away the same day.
Thank you so much for caring enough about your customers to provide your staff with the training, tools and skills to provide this level of service. They all did a fine job and deserve to be recognize. They all are outstanding representatives of your organization.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and service personnel/technicians; specifically Mr. D. Shiflett, Mr. Chris, Mr. C.Hammer and Ms. M. Negvesky. You all spent a lot of time in helping us to resolve our toilet issues. It was a most stressful period there for a while however you were persistent in trying to resolve and correct the problem. James River Heating and Air is an excellent company because they were very prompt in responding to our service call, considering our unit went out on the Fourth of July. They were very courteous, professional and did a very sufficient job and finished the job in a timely manner. They also do our routine inspection of our system.

Excellent, my heating unit had been nonfunctional for 2 nights; the company that installed the system in July refused to return my calls and finally (4 phone calls and 24 hours later) told me to call an electrician because the problem was electrical. James River sent someone to my house within 3 hours of my call (earlier than promised), had the unit functional with one simple wiring adjustment and made additional repairs to avoid the problem with other faulty wiring. At my request (and purchase a service contract), they also conducted an inspection and noted several other problems that I suspected were present but previous contractor denied.

Sunday morning, one of our record setting days, our heat pump stopped working. I have been a James River customer for years and called for service. Realizing that James River must be burdened with emergency calls I knew that service wouldn’t be quick.
I place my call to your company at about 8:00 and got a return call with 20 minutes. The technician said that there were a lot of emergency calls but he would get to us as soon as he could.
At about 10:00 I received a call from the office stating that a technician was on the way. He arrived about 10:15, diagnosed the problem and made a temporary repair to get us going again. He ordered a part and said it would be replaced in a few days.
It is this dedication to service that keeps me as a James River customer. I have told this story many times this week because I believe that good customer service should be talked about as much as bad customer service. - E. Barnett, Glen Allen

This letter is to let you know of the excellent service the people listed below while analyzing and installing a furnace/air conditioner in my home this past week performed.
John Spangler who made a service call at 8:30 on last Thursday night. He returned on Friday (6-13) to installed something to keep the A/C unit running until a service call could be scheduled on June 17th.
Linda Cox came and explained the units. She was very knowledgeable about what was best. Jeff Warren and his helper (whose name I don’t know) arrived to install the unit yesterday (6-17) and impressed me with how diligently they worked. Again, thank you James River. - B. Dawson
As you are aware, most customers do not take the time to write a letter when the service is prompt and efficient, but rather always are quick to write or call when there are problems with service. I am writing this letter to commend your staff that were there when I needed them through my recent air conditioning problems. I would not have made it without them.
I moved to this location in late November and had only used the heat, but never the air. When I turned on my air conditioning for the first time on May 31, nothing happened, so I immediately called James River since I had a maintenance service agreement with you and to request someone come and see what was needed to fix the system. Never did I think I would be in the predicament I would find myself in over the next couple of weeks.
I worked with so many individuals at your company as a result of my current installation of equipment and at every step was impressed with the service attitude that each person had. When I call James River, they quickly set up an appointment for someone to come to my house when I called early morning on June 2 and made it easy for me to arrange an appointment that would fit my work schedule. My first encounter was with Mr. Beaty. Upon inspection, he found the unit appeared to have been hit my lighting. He reported it to be in “burn out condition.” He was very knowledgeable, kind and was very patient with me as I asked questions trying to understand what would be needed for me to get cool air back in my home. Through our conversation, somehow he indicated there had been a half price special that ended May 29 and as I told him then I am always “a day late and a dollar short.” I could not have asked for a more pleasant person- excellent service and knowledge.
My next encounter was with Linda Cox on June 5. What a wonderful human being!! As you will remember this was the period of very hot days with 100+ temperatures. Linda came and analyzed my current system. As I have now learned from other neighbors, the houses in my neighborhood were built using short-cut methods to install the heating and cooling systems. Linda was very much aware of this problem and worked very hard to find alternative ways to make the situation I had be more efficient. In the end, she recommended adding a new return and installing a commercial vent to allow more air flow. As well, I needed a new outside unit and air handler. I felt very confident after spending time with her because it was very clear she knew her product. - S.Acuff, Richmond
